The two major organizations in this field are F.S.C. (Forest Stewardship Council, www.fsc.org) and P.E.F.C. (Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification, www.pefc.org)<\/p>\n
So, now-days, millions of acres of woodlands in dozens countries are certified according to P.E.F.C or F.S.C. standards, from which are produced millions of cubic meters of certified timber transported in the global market. According to reports from 2005 across the world exist more than 1.570.000.000 acres of certified forests.<\/p>\n
